Introducing The Coco Café - Our Onsite Restaurant
It is with great pleasure, and a humble amount of pride, that we introduce to you our brand new onsite restaurant The Coco Café, open since June 2023! The Coco Café is a haven of local, tropical goodness, open daily between 8 am - 10 pm. Our menu is a loving showcase of Aruba's vibrant culinary traditions, our Belgian heritage, and the Mediterranean inspiration we've gathered along our travels. From nutritious foods and comforting dishes to freshly shaken cocktails and delightful vegan and gluten-free options
Breakfast Service
The Coco Café offers a daily breakfast service between 8:00 am to 12:00 am. There is ample seating available underneath Boardwalk’s signature palapa. New on the breakfast menu is our so-called Breakfast Tower, which can also be delivered to your casita, upon request. This includes croissants, sourdough bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, granola, fresh tropical fruit, a Belgian waffle with chocolate sauce, choice of sunrise sip cocktail and a hot drink of choice.
The Breakfast Tower can be ordered while making your room reservation via our booking engine and in your pre-arrival communication with our team. Furthermore, breakfast throughout your stay can also be added to your reservation at a discounted price. While staying with us, breakfast orders can be placed at the restaurant, at our Front Desk or via our upgraded hotel App. Through this App, various online concierge services are at your fingertips, while you can also order food-all-day items and breakfast for takeaway.
Food all day
If you are a repeat guest at Boardwalk or a frequent reader of our blog, you know that we always listen to the feedback we receive from our guests. Over the past year the requests for a more diversified menu including non-vegan options, along with the ask for an onsite restaurant with longer opening hours grew significantly, and that is how The Coco Café was realized. It features a ‘food all day’ menu, daily from 12 noon to 9 pm with tropical bar bites, salads & bowls, vegan options and entrees, a bar serving tropical inspired cocktails and daily happy hour from 3 pm to 5 pm. Besides food all day, guests also get to enjoy traiteur options at a fee, specialty culinary services like dinner with a private chef on your casita’s own patio, a mouthwatering Paella Night or a BBQ Night under the Stars.
NEW RESTAURANT, NEW LOOK
The Coco Café boosts outdoor seating on a covered patio with a fresh new look matching Aruba’s colorful charm. While you’re there, don’t forget to look up and admire the dazzling Caribbean-style chandelier, made from thousands of seashells. Next to the restaurant’s seating area you’ll find a cozy, open air bar with additional seating and friendly bartenders, ready to mix your favorite drinks, serve you a coffee the way you like it and talk story about our island. The bar extends all the way to a semi-open kitchen, where behind a glass wall you can admire the kitchen staff, working on delicious bites and delights.
Meet the team
The kitchen staff at The Coco Café consists of various local culinary talents such as chef Roosje Loopstok, who held chef positions at Aruba’s fine dining icon White Modern Cuisine and most recently at Poké Ono. Aruban top-chef Urvin Croes from Infini, Mediterranean chef Cristiano Guidetti and Belgian vegan chef Griet Vanbrabant created the new menu items for The Coco Café and were heavily involved in tasting panels and sourcing local ingredients. In addition, vegan chef Chef Griet guided Boardwalk’s culinary team for the first weeks and spearheaded the opening process of The Coco Café.
What’s on the menu
The menu of The Coco Café includes extensive selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Expect all time local and international favorites like Belgian waffles, coconut shrimp, fries, burgers and tuna tataki, yet also vegan, vegetarian, gluten- and lactose free food options. Although Eduardo's is no longer on site, healthy, fresh and vegan options will remain a fixed part of Boardwalk’s food offerings. And for the hardcore fans: they are still our family, and right around the corner to visit at their Hideaway location in Noord. We are thrilled to welcome you soon at our new restaurant, serving you a fresh Red Snapper, tasty pasta or pizza, authentic Steak Frites, (vegan) burgers, bowls and so much more. Stay tuned for updates as we will be opening The Coco Café to locals and non-Boardwalk guests in the near future as well.
