Supporting the local community

Sharing the Inside Scoop

Boardwalk provides tips on local restaurants, activities, artists, cultural events, traditions, and initiatives. These tips are mostly given personally by the team but also through Boardwalk’s signature treasure maps, guest app, social media, and blog posts.

Efforts to Purchase Locally

Boardwalk makes efforts to purchase as much as possible from local sources instead of procuring internationally. This includes offering locally made artworks and products in the hotel’s lobby shop, such as Aruba Aloe, Sasha handbags, and Mersea Jewelry.

Food Donation Program

In partnership with Aruba’s Foodbank, Boardwalk provides food and hygiene products for local families in need. They also support various local fundraisers and initiatives.

Promoting Learning & Development

Boardwalk promotes learning and development by offering regular training and courses on sustainability to its team members. Management and supervisors participate in Regenerative Hotels courses and retreats regularly. They also involve guests in sustainability efforts with Boardwalk’s growing Do-Good program and giving back to the island.
