Protecting and preserving Aruba's nature & heritage
Coconut Plantation Heritage
Once home to many coconut plantations, Palm Beach's rich history is revived at Boardwalk Hotel Aruba. Our lush gardens, filled with hundreds of coconut trees and native plant species, create an ecological haven in Aruba’s desert climate.
The gardens produce approximately 100 tons of oxygen annually and feature botanical signs explaining the origins of the plants. The trees provide natural shade, reducing the need for air conditioning, while offering a sanctuary for birds, bees, and butterflies. We also adopt local trees, giving them a second life in our vibrant gardens.
Art & Artists
At Boardwalk Hotel Aruba, we proudly support local art. Our guest rooms showcase a collection of works by local artists, including smaller pieces created by the Artesano Foundation, which helps rehabilitate prisoners and reintegrate them into society.
Commitment to Nature
We educate our guests on how to protect Aruba’s environment, encouraging responsible behavior such as not driving on beaches, avoiding wildlife disturbance, and participating in beach cleanups. We avoid promoting activities that can harm nature, like ATV tours, and promote sustainability throughout the hotel.
Promoting Aruba’s Culture & Heritage
Our team is dedicated to sharing Aruba’s culture and heritage with guests through our signature treasure maps, social media posts, newsletters, and blog articles, highlighting the island’s history and hidden gems.
